If you’ve downloaded a seamless pattern from SeamlessStock and need to resize it, Photoshop is a powerful and simple tool that can help you do just that. Follow these simple steps to resize your image using Adobe Photoshop.
Step 1: Open Photoshop
First, launch Adobe Photoshop on your computer. If you don’t have Photoshop, you can download it from the Adobe website and install it.
Step 2: Open Your Image
Once Photoshop is open, click on “File” in the top left corner, then select “Open…” from the dropdown menu. Browse to the location where you saved your seamless pattern from SeamlessStock, select the file, and click “Open.”
Step 3: Open the Image Size Dialog
With your image open in Photoshop, go to the top menu and click on “Image,” then select “Image Size…” from the dropdown. This will open the Image Size dialog box where you can adjust the dimensions of your image.
Step 4: Set Your New Dimensions
In the Image Size dialog box, you’ll see fields for Width, Height, and Resolution. Select your preferred unit of measurement, usually centimeters, inches or pixels. Enter your desired dimensions. For example, if you need your image to be 24cm x 24cm, enter those values into the Width and Height fields.
Step 5: Maintain Aspect Ratio (Optional)
If you want to maintain the aspect ratio of your image, make sure the chain link icon between the Width and Height fields is selected. This ensures your image scales proportionally without distortion.
Step 6: Adjust the Resolution
Check the Resolution field to ensure it’s set to your desired pixels per inch (ppi). A standard resolution for print is 300 ppi, but you can adjust this based on your specific needs.
Step 7: Apply the Changes
Once you’ve entered your new dimensions and confirmed the resolution, click “OK” to apply the changes. Photoshop will resize your image to the specified dimensions.
Step 8: Save Your Resized Image
After resizing, you’ll want to save your newly sized image. Click on “File” in the top menu, then select “Save As…” Choose your preferred file format (Usually JPEG), enter a new file name if desired, and click “Save.”
And You’re Done!
You’ve successfully resized your image using Photoshop! Whether you’re prepping your seamless pattern for a specific project or just need a different size, Photoshop makes it easy to get the exact dimensions you need.
